Alex Batten Counselling & Psychotherapy

I hold a BSC (Hons) Degree in Humanistic & Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and I'm a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I am committed to providing therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment and provide time limited and open ended face to face, online or telephone therapy from Carterton, West Oxfordshire, a stones throw from RAF Brize Norton.

I have experience working with clients with a broad range of issues such as trauma, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, depression, stress, loss, grief, bereavement, workplace wellbeing issues, gender and sexuality. My focus is on my clients’ experience of their world and establishing a quality of relationship that can enable change through actively listening and respecting past and present experiences. I aim to support you to determine what’s best for you, despite limitations, to achieve personal growth, an appreciation for life and acceptance of self, to become who you feel you are meant to be.

I have a professional interest in trauma theory and the reparative nature of the therapeutic relationship, and continue to study these areas of interest to further my professional development and clinical practice.

I am an Armed Forces Veteran and have spent the last 30 + years working in the Defence and Aviation sector and have provided welfare and wellbeing support to a wide range of professionals.
